Melrose Action Holds Annual Meeting on State of Crime In Area

It was nearly standing room only as residents came out to meet and greet our city, county, and LAPD commanders from the West Bureau and Wilshire Division at our annual Meeting on Neighborhood Crime.

Officials that attended: Neighbor and County Supervisor Zev Yaroslavsky, District 5 Councilmember Jack Weiss, L.A.P.D. Deputy Chief Terry Hara - West Bureau, District 3 Councilmember Dennis Zine, Aide to Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa-Fabiola Vilchez, Captain Eric Davis of LAPD's Wilshire Division, Lt. Bryan Wong - Commander of Detectives, Wilshire Division, Capri Maddox - Neighborhood Prosecutor, Asha Greenberg from the City Attorney's Office, District 5 Council Candidates Paul Koretz, David Vahedi, Candidate for City Attorney Carmen Trutanich and many others.

Over 250 residents turned out to show our local officials we care deeply about our community and we need a strong commitment from our officials to help make our neighborhood safe.



Melrose Action plans a follow up Neighborhood Forum on Crime in a town hall format to be in in late fall of 2009 will be question and answer driven.
