Expanded Crime Maps For Week Ending 2/27/2010 - Now More Maps For More Areas

The reporting week ending 02/27/2010 saw 16 crimes occurring (Up By More Than Double from 7 crimes the previous week) in the Melrose Village area bounded by La Brea Av. on the east, La Cienega Bl. on the west, Beverly Blvd. on the South, and the City of West Hollywood limits on the north. There was a serious crime on 2/26/2010 when a shooting occurred at 400 N. Block of Fairfax Avenue - counting for Two Aggravated Assaults. One additional Assault incident was reported. 2 Robberies were reported.  Burglary accounted for 1 incident last week.

Melrose Action Hosted Councilman Paul Koretz At Recent Meeting - Full House

At the January 6, 2010 Melrose Action Neighborhood Watch meeting over 60 Melrose Village residents and business owners crowded into Blu Jam Cafe on to hear from our Los Angeles City Council Member Paul Koretz.  Paul spoke and answered questions for nearly an hour.  He talked extensively about neighborhood issues, including the proliferation of marijuana storefronts, the appearance of sober living houses, permit parking, the city budget crisis, the increase in graffiti, the need for improvements along Melrose Avenue, and the importance of public safety.
