The reporting week ending 01/23/2010 saw 10 crimes occurring (DOWN from 17 the previous week) in the Melrose Village area bounded by La Brea Av. on the east, La Cienega Bl. on the west, Beverly Blvd. on the South, and the City of West Hollywood limits on the north. Burglary accounted for 2 incidents last week. Next up was 3 incidents of BTFV (Burglary Theft From Vehicle) One car was stolen and there were 4 thefts reported for the week. Senior Lead Officer Gallegos advices everyone to keep their eyes open, windows and doors locked and report suspicious activity to either 9-1-1 or 1-877-ASK-LAPD.This same sort of spike in crime hit our area last year at this time.
